Greens Unveil First Candidates Ahead of Robbie Patterson, Manly Daily - July 19, 2017 Party's Manly Branch Makes Announcements for Council Election THE Greens have announced their first two lead candidates for the Northern Beaches Council election set for September 9. The Manly Greens branch nominated Madeleine Charles in Manly ward and Natalie Warren for Curl Curl ward. Ms Charles, 29, from Fairlight, is a legal practitioner working in immigration and Ms Warren, 36, from North Curl Curl, is an actuary working in the insurance sector. Ms Warren said she was passionate about the impact of waste on our oceans, and advocating for local solutions to the global issue of climate change. “Many local councils and cities are now at the forefront of fighting climate change, and doing this in ways that create greener, cleaner and healthier communities,” she said. If elected, Ms Warren said she would be focused on lowering carbon emissions, providing sustainable public transport options and transitioning to renewable energy. Ms Charles said she would be a tireless advocate for the community. “In addition to our strong environmental policies, I am also committed to supporting our local village feel and at the heart of that is our local businesses,” she said. Greens candidates are expected to be announced for the other three wards of Northern Beaches Council this month.
