Did you know that since Amalgamation the new Northern Beaches Council has spent $5,163,725 million on the purchase of vehicles mainly for staff. And on Tuesday night Michael Regan, his fellow Political Party Councillors and their coalition partner, Candy Bingham of the Good for Manly Registered Political Party will push for a further 2.3% Rate Rise! Have your say:c[email protected] and c[email protected]
Last night Mayor Michael Regan, his political party Councillors and Candy Bingham of the Good for Manly Registered Political Party voted to:
👊 Increase rates despite 700 public submissions against!
👊 Increase their own salaries despite overwhelming opposition by the community.
👊 Facilitate overdevelopment and height increases in Frenchs Forrest.
👊 Selected a publicly listed (on the Stock Market) development company to have a long term lease over District Park against the community's submissions and past undertakings by Regan (pre Election) to support the Warringah Golf Club's proposal.
Is this what you want from your Mayor, his political party Councillors and their cohort?

Lyn Nicholls-Smith No!
Miranda Korzy Was the District Park decision one of the proposals decided behind closed doors? What was the reasoning?
Vincent De Luca Yes, Confidential Session. Reasoning
Miranda Korzy Of course
Gary Grocott Vincent it’s not what we want but it is what we expected and feared and now people want to prevent us from getting back our Pittwater Council. It is the only way to protect our lifestyle and values.
Dave Murray I have seen no evidence so far that the new Council is a strong effective voice against the state government as was the claim by the amalgamation proponents
Martin Porter F'n disgusting but saddly not a surprise.
Pru Wawn So this is the high rise proposal to increase buildings from 17 storeys up to 22 storeys in the precinct - to apparently provide more 'open' ground space?
Vincent De Luca Yes
Vincent De Luca Fortunately their proposal for increase to 70m high got defeated.
Bronwyn Stevens-Jones Shyte!!
Peter Pitt This new Mega Council that we just had to have according to the State Government is just the old Warringah Council on Steroids ! To the People of Pittwater I say, WE ARE IN TROUBLE WITH WHAT'S COMING OUR WAY.
Dave Murray Agreed. My worry is that the delmege building will end up being the shortest in Mona Vale.
Peter Pitt The Delmege building was what saw Pittwater Council formed in 1992. Unfortunately what we are now going to see is the Northern Beaches Council (Warringah Council on Steroids) simply continue on with what Warringah Council started with the Delmege building. I understand the first site they have earmarked is where the grog shop and surrounding shops is bottom of Waratah Street. The huge site is owned by the family who runs the grog shop and is bordered by Waratah Street to Barrenjoey Locksmiths, through the lane opening into Pittwater Road and then back around the corner to the grog shop, see attached image. Whispers are the NBC wants to put a 12 storey building on the site as part of the new Mona Vale Place Plan.

Dave Murray It has been said that a kettle has to boil for a while before it makes steam. A 12 storey building proposed in Mona Vale may awaken a few of the locals who have yet to realise what the true purpose of the forced amalgamation was.
Miranda Korzy Dave Murray Sorry shouldn't laugh given that I'm sure that some on the council would think it's a great idea.
Pru Wawn Yes the loss of our LEP is a far bigger worry than the B-line. Already state govt's 'independent' planning panel has spot rezoned land in Newport for medium density, overruling all NBC's recommendations. This state govt is a real worry.
